Purim – A Celebration of Deliverance
It is interesting to note that two of Israel’s holidays celebrate Israel’s deliverance. Passover celebrates their deliverance from Egypt, and Purim celebrates the deliverance of the Jews in Persia from the evil decrees of Haman.

This year, Purim begins the evening of March 2 and ends the evening of March 3 for most Jews worldwide; however, Jerusalem celebrates March 4 because it is a walled city. (Esther 9:18-19) Especially in Israel, Purim is a very joyous celebration. Here are the three things that were in the edict from Esther and Mordecai concerning the celebration of Purim: Esther 9:22
- Purim is to be celebrated with feasting and gladness.
- Jews are to send gifts to one another.
- They are to give gifts to the poor.
In synagogues, schools, and even on street corners, the book of Esther is read aloud. When the name of Haman is about to be read, noisemakers begin to drown out the name of Haman. Children and adults dress up like characters from the story or Jewish heroes, past or present.
This year, during Purim, Jews will celebrate the elimination of the modern-day Haman, the supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, as well as forty top leaders of his evil regime.
US Operation Epic Fury – Israel Operation Roaring Lion

Early Saturday morning, in a historic military operation, the United States and Israel took out the supreme leader of Iran, at least forty of his leaders, and many military targets. President Trump was willing to find a peaceful path to Iran, stopping their enrichment process that would lead to a nuclear bomb. Iran continued to resist, and Israeli and US intelligence uncovered information that Iran was planning a ballistic missile attack on Israel and US assets in the region. President Trump has made it clear that this operation is to stop Iran from menacing the region by promoting terrorism and regime change. In his statement, he made it clear that regime change was the responsibility of the people of Iran.
