Important Events In Israeli/Jewish History

June 5-10, 1967 – The Six-Day War – On June 5, 1967, the first day of the war, Israel was alone, but its military commanders had conceived a brilliant war strategy. At 7:14 a.m., the entire Israeli Air Force—except for twelve aircraft assigned to defend Israeli airspace—took off to strike Egyptian airfields while many Egyptian pilots were eating breakfast. In less than two hours, three hundred Egyptian aircraft were destroyed. A few hours later, Israeli fighters attacked the Jordanian and Syrian air forces and an airfield in Iraq. June 7, 1981 – Operation Opera – Israel Air Force took out Iraq’s nuclear reactor. Israeli intelligence confirmed Iraq’s intentions to develop nuclear weapons at the Osirak nuclear reactor, and they were keenly aware of Iraqi threats against Israel. Prayer Points – Psalm 107:43 NLT

  1. During the Six-Day War, Israel captured the Golan Heights, Judea and Samaria (West Bank), and the crown jewel was the reunification of Jerusalem. All three of these areas are part of the land God gave to Abraham and his descendants in a covenant He made in Genesis 15. This proves God is faithful to do what He promises!
    1. Pray for the PEACE OF JERUSALEM! (King David conquered the city and made it the capital of Israel) Psalm 122, II Samuel 5:11-12
    2. Pray for prosperity and peace in Judea and Samaria (Contains land that was given to the tribes of Benjamin, Ephraim, and Issachar, and part of Manasseh). Deuteronomy 8:18, Jeremiah 29:11
    3. Pray for an increase in the population and PEACE on the Golan Heights (land given to half the tribe of Manasseh). Ezekiel 36:10-12, Psalm 29:11
  1. Operation Opera not only ensured that Iraq could not threaten or worse hit Israel with a nuclear weapon, but it also removed any nuclear threat against the United States during Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
    1. Pray that any agreement between the United States and Iran will REQUIRE that Iran NEVER has a nuclear weapon!
    2. Pray the US/Israel Alliance will AWAYS remain strong. Genesis 12:3, Isaiah 60:12
  1. Anne Frank’s birthday is a poignant reminder of the 1.5 million children murdered in the Holocaust. I often wonder what the world lost with the killing of innocent Jewish children. What was in them from which we will never benefit? They never grew into adulthood to build, invent, or discover cures or solutions that would improve the lives of all mankind. Genesis 12:3 “… through you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” Irving Roth, a Holocaust survivor of blessed memory, always told us that the Holocaust began with words. Let us not be silent today as Jews and Israel are being attacked with words of lies and distortions.     1. Pray fervently against antisemitism in every form and in every venue. (articles, false teaching in classrooms, bloggers, podcasters, Holocaust denial, etc.)  Proverbs 12:21-22, Isaiah 54:17, Ephesians 6:12
    2. Pray for the voices of Christians United for Israel to gain strength and influence in the battle against antisemitism. Proverbs 12:19

Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran Update

Prime Minister Netanyahu recently said that Israel controls more than sixty percent of Gaza. However, Hamas is still recruiting members and preparing for a future attack against Israel. Netanyahu also said that Israel is at WAR against Hezbollah. They are attacking and destroying Hezbollah strongholds, weapons stockpiles that are often found in schools, homes, and hospitals, and eliminating Hezbollah leadership, and all the while keeping an eye on Iran and the US/Iran negotiations. For Israel, the war against these evil empires is not over.

This makes us acutely aware that armies can be defeated, but ideologies are not easily eliminated. We are reminded in Ephesians 6:12 that we do not war against flesh and blood, but principalities and powers in heavenly places. This is why Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread (trample under feet) on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power (mighty work, strength, violence, miracles) of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.” This is from the Amplified Bible, and the words in parentheses are definitions from Strong’s Concordance.

Prayer Points

  1. Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu the following from Isaiah 11:2: The Spirit of Wisdom, The Spirit of Understanding, The Spirit of Counsel, The Spirit of Knowledge, and The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord.
  2. Pray against the demonic forces that empower Hamas and Hezbollah. Luke 10:19
  3. Pray for strength and protection for the soldiers of the IDF. Psalm 144:1-2
  4. Pray for President Trump to have the mind of the Lord as he deals with Iran. Proverbs 3:5-6
    1. Pray against deception.
    2. Pray for ALL darkness concerning any deal with Iran to be brought into the light.

CUFI Washington Summit – July 5-7 – Prayer Points – Psalm 91, Isaiah 54:17

  1. Pray for each CUFI staff member who is working to make the Summit a great success.
    1. Pray for strength and good health.
    2. Pray for protection over them and their families.
  2. Pray for Pastor Hagee – GOD’S ANNOINTING!
  3. Pray for the co-executive directors, Diana Hagee and Shari Dollinger.
    1. Pray for strength and wisdom.
    2. Pray that no weapon formed against them will prosper.
  4. Pray for God’s presence and anointing on every session.
