Daughters for Zion Prayer Points – November 2026

Hello, Faithful Daughter for Zion,

As we enter the month of Giving Thanks, take a moment to thank God for all the answered prayers Daughters for Zion has experienced and all your personal prayers that were answered. Psalm 66:19-20 “But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor his lovingkindness from me.”

SIGD: A SPECIAL HOLIDAY CELEBRATED BY ETHIOPIAN JEWS

Sigd is a word derived from Ge’ez meaning “prostration” or “worship,” and is the commonly used name for a holiday celebrated by the Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jewish) community on the 29th of the Hebrew month of Cheshvan – November 8-9, 2026. This date is exactly 50 days after Yom Kippur, usually in late October or November. According to Ethiopian Jewish tradition, this is also believed to be the date God first revealed Himself to Moses. It is a day to remember the covenant God made with the Jews and to recommit to the Torah given to Moses at Mount Sinai. Since 2008, Sigd has been an official Israeli state holiday.

UPDATE ON ISRAELI ELECTIONS

Israel, the only true democracy in the Middle East, held elections for the Prime Minister and the Knesset (Israel’s Parliament) on October 27. Here is some information that will give some understanding of the outcome of the election.

  1. Although the election results are in, the government is not decided until a coalition of 61 seats is formed.
  2. The Knesset has 120 members, and a coalition needs to have 61 seats.
  3. Israel does not operate under a two-party system but a multi-party system; therefore, the coalition is formed by the party with the most Knesset seats and includes smaller parties that can bring the total to 61.
  4. The president of Israel will select the party that he feels has the greatest opportunity to form a government.
  5. This process could take a month or more.

Prayer Points – Forming the Government

  1. Pray against any violence during this process. Deuteronomy 16:20
  2. Pray for God‘s will to be done. Proverbs 19:21

Kristallnacht, “The Night of Broken Glass,” November 9

On orders from Nazi leadership, groups of Nazis carried out violent anti-Jewish riots throughout Germany and its annexed territories. Ordinary German civilians also joined in the terror. The rioters destroyed more than 1,400 synagogues and desecrated Jewish religious objects. They vandalized thousands of Jewish-owned businesses and other commercial establishments. They broke into Jewish people’s apartments and homes. They also humiliated, assaulted, and killed Jewish people.

These events became known as Kristallnacht, or the “Night of Broken Glass,” named for the shattered glass from store windows that littered the streets after the violence.

As part of Kristallnacht, the German police arrested tens of thousands of Jews. They imprisoned about 26,000 Jewish men in concentration camps just because they were Jewish.

Hundreds of Jews lost their lives in the violence and its aftermath.

Kristallnacht was an important turning point for Germany’s Jews. Afterward, many Jews concluded that there was no future for them in Nazi Germany. (Holocaust Encyclopedia)

Concerning the Holocaust, Christians United for Israel and Daughters for Zion have always said, “Never Again! Not on our watch!” These words demand action. Here are some action items:

  1. Pray against the demonic strongholds of antisemitism in the United States. (Media, Education, Government, Entertainment, Medicine, even in the Church) II Corinthians 10:4-5
  2. Speak out against antisemitism when you see it or hear it. Do not be silent! Ephesians 5:11
  3. Plan NOW to attend the CUFI Washington Summit June 29 (Daughters for Zion Conference)-July 1, 2027. You will be equipped and inspired to fight antisemitism. You will also have an amazing opportunity to visit your congressperson and senators and be part of a delegation that speaks to them concerning the importance of standing with Israel. Isaiah 61:1
