Dr. Denise Myers
Illinois State Director
Savoy, IL
Pastor Dr. Min. Denise Elaine Johnson-Myers, A native Chicagoan, is married to pastor Russell Myers, and together they are senior leaders of Kingdom Acceleration Ministries. Denise is the mother of 4 adult children. She is an active contributor to the fields of ministry and community service. She lives by the mantra: What you know is what you know, but what you know is not all there is to know—a fundamental statement that epitomizes her willingness to learn and grow. In her pursuit of learning and growing, she acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration graduating as Magna Cum Laude, and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Forbes School of Business and inducted into Golden Key National Honors Society all acquired from Arizona State University. In each program, she developed and strengthened her leadership skills, which she applied to her endeavors with a vision of serving humanity to create change and improvement in communities, regions, states, nations, and the world while performing in the spirit of excellence. Denise embodies the vision and placed it on display while she held the positions of deaconess, intercessor coordinator, leadership educator, leader of hospitality, conference coordinator, District Director for Christians United for Israel, and Notary Public for State of Illinois. She had the opportunity to speak with governors and state representatives on several occasions in Washington D.C. about issues concerning the State of Israel for CUFI. She also was an advocate for Access Initiative in the State of Illinois—a youth guided and family-driven program to provide support and care for children who were experiencing serious emotional and behavioral problems.
Moreover, a pure exemplar of the church extending beyond walls, Denise Johnson-Myers volunteered at The Wesley Foundation Food Pantry on campus at the University of Illinois, facilitated Carnival Day in the city of Rantoul, Illinois for the Chamber of Commerce, presented a speech before the Business Owners Association of Rantoul, spoke to Rantoul Illinois High School class of Young Entrepreneurs, and participated in Stop the Violence Tent Outreach in Decatur, Illinois. Not only did she commit to outreach to her local community but served on international soil as well. She completed a total of seven international humanitarian trips to Israel, one to Kenya and one to Mexico. When she returned, she was even more motivated to expand her purview in reaching more of God’s people. This led to securing certificates in New Life Principles, Baptism, Friends of Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, Public Health Food License, Grant Writing, Ministry Anointing Helps 101, Team Work 101 and hosting a Holocaust Survivor for Midwest Region of Illinois churches.
The accomplishments did not come without challenges, Denise fought and overcame breast cancer by believing in the power of God’s healing hand. She pressed further into the principles of sowing and praying, even in hard times, and read the books of the bible outlining the lives of God’s spiritual generals. The spiritual generals’ victories demonstrated the power and faithfulness of God. Even in all of the events and activities in which Denise Johnson-Myers has been engaged, she still finds time to be an entrepreneur. Along with her husband, they owned a frozen yogurt and gourmet popcorn shop called Popalicious, Upstream Enterprises offering men’s and women’s accessories, and Honey Girlzzzzz, an exotic tea and flavored honey shop. Denise is still excited for what the future holds in God.
